Lastchaos Server Files Ep3
in this series, we're continuing to use navicat to perform common user administration tasks. in part 1, we learned how to securely lock the mysql root account using navicat. in part 2, we learned how to set a new user's account details, account limits, and ssl settings using navicat. today's blog takes us on to the remaining tabs of the new user object tab: namely, server privileges, privileges, and sql preview.
navicat premium makes it easy to view the privileges assigned to a database or server. to view the privileges for the bob_slocalhost database, use the database object menu to select database privileges and then click the privileges tab.
notice that the server privileges have been added automatically to the bob_slocalhost user, but not the privileges for the server connection. the latter will be added automatically when connecting to the database and only once the connection is established.
you can also use the configure server privileges tool in navicat lite to secure a mysql server. first, you will need to open the server settings in the navicat lite server settings window. open the database menu and then click the privileges tab.
you can also use the configure server privileges tool in navicat pro to secure a mysql server. first, you will need to open the server settings in the navicat pro server settings window. open the database menu and then click the privileges tab.
the localhost server has a special port used to connect to navicat. navicat listens on that port by default. in order to connect to the database, you must specify that port number in the host name field. this is the port that
mysql connects on by default.
i have tried using burp suite suite pro (2018) proxy and burp suite suite pro (2018) proxy to access the chaos license server. i have cleared my temp files and have installed the msvcp120.dll file. i have also tried to uninstall and reinstall both programs but i get a message saying that the install can't be completed because of errors.
how did you install the chaos license server? did you download the installer from their website or did you get it from a third party? did you install this on your own or did you get it from the developers?
most of the time, the ssl/tls session will fail, however, if it is possible to view the encrypted traffic between the client and the server, there will be a link in the html to the certificate that was used for the connection.
it is also possible to use burp suite to capture the traffic after the client has sent the request. in this case, the proxy server will also capture the communication and then attempt to establish a new ssl/tls session to the server.
this is also possible with fiddler, however, if you use this tool, you will be capturing the entire traffic that flows through it, so it will also collect the additional ssl/tls communication between the client and the server.
the program works on all versions of windows and on all versions of linux. if you use windows 8, you may not be able to see the protocols that are transmitted between the client and the server. this is because the operating system does not allow you to decrypt the traffic unless it is signed by a certificate trusted by the operating system.
